Jazz Café at Zurich Airport
The Zurich Airport, which already consists of two Montreux Jazz Café units at Geneva Airport and at Sydney Airport, is in plans to open the SSP’s third café early next year.
The Café will be a 40 seater restaurant and display exclusive footage from the Jazz festival through video screens along with incorporating Montreux Jazz gift items at the area.
Peter Eriksson, Car Rental Zurich Airport Chief Commercial Officer said that “we thought of providing something enjoyable to do to the passengers while waiting for a flight and this Jazz Café will offer much to them to pass their time and added that it is well suited to the design of the new area with its modern and stylish good looks.”
SSP Switzerland Managing Director has said that “It is a real meters and greeters location with great coffee shop appealing to all passengers and as well airport staff.”
The Geneva’s restaurant a lounge bar style backstage area with 70 inch flat screens and sound systems, on which the images from the festival are shown.
Montreux Jazz Café at Geneva is a highlight of Geneva’s music scene, hosting several live music events and has gained reputation as “a place to be discovered” among the musicians.
The second café in Sydney specially appeals to the Australian travelers and offers more casual menu. At the time of its opening, Retail Derek Larsen, Sydney Airport General Manager has commented “adds another facet to the passengers and customers experience.

ZURICH – The cultural capital of Switzerland
Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland is the capital of the canton of Zürich. It has 364,500 natives in the city proper and close to 1 million in the agglomeration area. Zurich is banked on Lake Zurich, where the lake meets the Limmat River, in the north of Switzerland. It was one of the eight host cities in the 2008 European Football Championships. Zurich is a global city and is among one of the worlds largest financial centers. It is surrounded by wooded hills including the Gubrist, the Hönggerberg, the Käferberg, the Zürichberg, the Adlisberg and the Oettlisberg on the eastern shore; and the Uetliberg (part of the Albis range) on the western shore.
Climate
Zürich has a humid continental climate. January tends to be the coldest month in Zurich, when daytime temperatures linger around 2°C / 36°F, dropping to some extent at night, when frosts are most likely. Snowy weather can occur at this time of the year, as the climate begins to warm up and reaches highs of 8°C / 46°F or more by the time that March arrives.
Places to visit
Start with the sunrise at the Limmat River, rising from the Fraumünster church.
